Mission Statement

The London Abused Women's Centre (LAWC) offers abused and exploited women and girls over the age of 12 with hope and help. This includes women and girls exploited in prostitution/sex trafficking, abused by their partners and/or exposed to sexual harassment. LAWC services include long-term individual and group counselling, safety planning, advocacy/referrals, and systems navigation. Through partnership with the Salvation Army Correctional and Justice Services LAWC also assists in providing outreach services to prostituted/sex-trafficked women/girls including assistance in attending appointments, help with meeting basic needs, and crisis support. LAWC also runs: groups for women/girls at risk of being lured into the sex trade by pimps/traffickers; public education campaigns; prevention speaks for women/youth; and sex-trafficking training to social service and service organizations.
