Mission Statement

Avalon inspires healing and empowerment for those affected by sexual violence through free and immediate comprehensive services; promotes public awareness; and advances social change. We provide comprehensive and compassionate medical-forensic care to Wayne County survivors of sexual assault in a timely manner with immediate crisis advocacy, follow-up care & counseling, and provision of expert witness testimony. By providing choices of these services in a confidential, non-judgmental atmosphere, with specially trained staff and at no cost to the patient; we focus on empowering our survivors in order to begin the healing the process, and in addition, work to end sexual assault in our community.
