National Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance Center 
NHTTAC is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office on Trafficking in Persons. NHTTAC delivers training and technical assistance (T/TA) to inform and enhance the public health response to human trafficking. 

Runaway and Homeless Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center 
RHYTTAC is funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) as the training and technical assistance provider for all runaway and homeless youth (RHY) grantees. 

Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center 
OVC TTAC is a component of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs. OVC TTAC serves as the gateway to current training and technical assistance for victim service providers and allied professionals who serve crime victims.

When Daniel first called the National Human Trafficking Hotline, he was in a very remote area, a long way from his native home, and did not know his address.  Daniel explained that he had come to the U.S. on an H-2A Visa and began working on a farm with a group of mostly men who also held the same visa. 
 
After arriving, Daniel and his coworkers began working extremely long days with limited access to food and water and were paid less than they had been promised.

Sex Trafficking Story | Hotel/Motel

April 1, 2014

Luis, a runaway and homeless youth outreach worker, learned about a situation involving several young women who were being commercially sexually exploited. He spoke with two young men who told him about a hotel in a nearby town in Oregon where this took place. According to the two young men, the location for the operation was advertised by word of mouth and on some online chat groups where potential buyers could learn the address of the hotel. Buyers went to the hotel and spoke with a man who coordinated the deal and took the money.

Dorothy came to the U.S. from South America to work as a nanny for a wealthy family. After working for a few months, Dorothy called the National Human Trafficking Hotline to talk about her employers.  She told the hotline that she did not have control of her documents, had only left her employers' home a handful of times in the last few months, and did not interact with anyone other than her employers.

Sex Trafficking Story | Truck Stop

Larry was a truck driver who stopped for the night at a busy truck stop. Before going to bed, Larry saw two females he believed to be minors knocking on the cab doors of various trucks parked around him. Larry had learned about human trafficking happening at truck stops from Truckers Against Trafficking and knew he needed to call the National Human Trafficking Hotline. The National Hotline immediately responded by calling local police dispatch and filing a report with the human trafficking task force in that city.

A five year report of human trafficking trends in the United States, based on information from the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC). From December 7, 2007, through December 31, 2012, the NHTRC answered 65,557 calls, 1,735 online tip forms, and 5,251 emails — totaling more than 72,000 interactions. This report is based on the information learned from these interactions during the first five years of the hotline’s operation by Polaris.
