Lawyers for Trafficked Victims is a group of attorneys concerned about the problem of human trafficking which is occurring in Japan.
We advocate for the human rights and individual rights of trafficked victims and, aiming to rescue these victims, we undertake the following actions:
●Providing information and consultation to victims of human trafficking
●Acting as the representative of the trafficked victim in civil courts to recover damages from human trafficking, for example by demanding unpaid wages and compensation
●Providing consultation and acting as the representative of foreign victims in matters relating to resident status and/or citizenship
●Providing consultation and acting as the representative in domestic cases related to human trafficking such as the dissolution of a fraudulent marriage
●In cases of a criminal action, acting as the victim’s representative when they are involved in court proceedings.
