In 2019, we launched Eurydice because we wanted to make the problem of women’s exploitation in prostitution more visible and to give women survivors a place to turn to. We are a few feminist activists who are concerned about the problem. Some of us had experience in prostitution, so we wanted to create a grassroots movement.
We believe that the sex industry is a crime-ridden area, built on human trafficking, violence and sexual exploitation of the most vulnerable groups of people - mainly women and children.
It is necessary to fight against the expansion of the sex industry, ideally for its eradication, through strategies to reduce demand (punishing “johns”) and uncompromisingly against pimps, intermediaries and other organizers of criminal networks for the recruitment, transportation and sexual exploitation of people.
