Advanced Human Trafficking Investigations Law EnforcementDid you know that the majority of human trafficking investigations are initiated while responding to an unrelated crime? Do your officers have the training needed to detect these cases? As one of the fastest-growing crimes in the country, human trafficking is impacting every community. This course utilizes an "all- crimes approach" to combat human trafficking in your community. This course will greatly improve your effectiveness in identifying victims and holding their offenders accountable.This course provides attendees with an overview of Human Trafﬁcking crimes, as deﬁned in the U.S. Trafﬁcking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA) and state laws. Case analysis and development are discussed, as well as the legal and investigative elements of Human Trafﬁcking crimes. A victim-centered approach to pro-active investigations and trauma-informed interviewing is introduced. Pre and post-operational planning are covered. Additionally, participants will understand the importance of utilizing available tools and technologies when investigating Human Trafﬁcking and other co-occurring crimes. The course is 3-days/24 hours and includes approximately nine hours of lab time.
