On May 16, there will be a one-time showing of The Abolitionist, a documentary about Tim Ballard (ex CIA and Homeland Security Agent) and his efforts to save children from sex slave rings. This movie is from the Academy Award winning producer of Schindler's List, Gerald R. Molen. The goal of this film is to open the world's eyes to the epidemic of human and child sex trafficking. Here is a link to a story CBS did on this organization.http://www.cbsnews.com/news/one-mans-mission-to-rescue-child-sex-trafficking-victims/The film shows how one person standing up for right can change people’s lives.  It also does a great job on bringing to light the issues girls and women of all ethnicities face in developing countries.  There are examples of girls being told there was a job in a factory and then once arriving in the new city, being used in the sex trade.  It depicts the role of media in human trafficking. This documentary is a great representation of the power that media can have. Here are some other helpful links:The website: http://theabolitionistsmovie.com/Buy tickets: http://www.fathomevents.com/event/the-abolitionistsThe organization, Operation Underground Railroad: http://ourrescue.org/ The film will only be shown one night, May 16th at 7:30 pm.  The closest location is at the Cinemark 16 in Mesa or Esplanade 14 in Biltmore park. Theaters are allowing people to pre purchase.  As people do so early, it will give us leverage to have the theaters open more screens and run trailers for the movie in the days leading up to it.  This will help us in getting this story out to more people.
